Man who offered Rs 11 lakh to kill Kanhaiya Kumar arrested

Adarsh Sharma, president of Purvanchal Sena, who had made the offer, was questioned last week by the Delhi Police but wasn't arrested. Sharma said he formed the Purvanchal Sena for the welfare of people from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

NEW DELHI: Delhi police on Monday evening arrested the man who offered Rs 11 lakhs to kill JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar.
Adarsh Sharma, president of Purvanchal Sena, who had made the offer, had been questioned last week by the Delhi Police but wasn't arrested.
"Kumar is a traitor and we want him dead. He has let down our motherland by raising antinational slogans," Sharma had said.

"The court will take time to deliver a judgment, but we will ensure that he is shown his place at the earliest. This is why we will give Rs 11 lakh to his killer."
The little-known outfit had even denied that this was a publicity gimmick. Purvanchal Sena members said that though they had faith in the judiciary and they wanted speedy justice.
Sharma said he formed the Purvanchal Sena for the welfare of people from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. He has a Twitter account in the name of @adarshmedia and claims to have worked for a few newspapers in the past.
